School Supply Drive

This July, the Jeffco Action Center is collecting school supplies for the students in our community who cannot afford them. Bring school supplies to church with you and drop them off in the designated area in the social hall. This drive is for a limited time only - bring in your donations before the end of July! Thank you in advance for your contributions. To view a list of supplies needed, please click here

Street Reach

Street Reach was started by Kathleen Gomendi to make sure everyone in Denver has a hot meal on Mondays. If you would like to volunteer on a Monday for an afternoon or even for just a couple of hours, show up anytime between 10:00 AM and 6:30 PM any Monday at 1600 Grant Ave in Denver and Kathleen will put you to work.

We also collect sleeping bags, tents and clothes at the church to bring to Street Reach. If you would like to donate any of these items, please bring them to church with you and leave them beside the shopping cart in the office hallway.

Bridge to Habitat

On the third Sunday of each month the missions committee collects monetary donations for our next Habitat for Humanity build. Watch the stones of our bridge continue to get colored in as our donations bring the bridge to life!

Action Center

AVUMC collects food for the Action Center the 2nd Tuesday of each month. Please bring your items and place them in the shopping cart outside of the sanctuary. If you see a sale, or a two-for-one deal at the grocery store, pick up something for those in your community who are in need and bring it to church with you! We will make sure all donations are received any day of the week.

The Action Center was started by the Jefferson County Human Relations Council on May 20, 1968 RIGHT HERE at APPLEWOOD VALLEY UMC. The idea was to provide basic human services to residents of Jeffco on an immediate basis and in a nonjudgmental environment.

Today the Action Center is located at 14th Ave. in Lakewood. To visit the Action Center’s website, please click here.
