HOW YOU CAN HELP WITH HURRICANES HARVEY, IRMA & MARIA
UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) is a nationally known first responder in disaster situations, and are currently in need of empty and filled flood buckets.
If you would like to donate a flood bucket, please drop it off in the Social Hall at the church on Sunday mornings, and please follow the guidelines below for each bucket.

Street Reach was started by Kathleen Gomendi to make sure everyone in Denver has a hot meal on Mondays. If you would like to volunteer on a Monday for an afternoon or even for just a couple of hours, show up anytime between 10:00 AM and 6:30 PM any Monday at 1600 Grant Ave in Denver and Kathleen will put you to work.
We also collect sleeping bags, tents and clothes at the church to bring to Street Reach. If you would like to donate any of these items, please bring them to church with you and leave them beside the shopping cart in the office hallway.

AVUMC collects food for the Action Center the 2nd Sunday of each month. Please bring your items and place them in the shopping cart outside of the sanctuary. If you see a sale, or a two-for-one deal at the grocery store, pick up something for those in your community who are in need and bring it to church with you! We will make sure all donations are received any day of the week.
The Action Center was started by the Jefferson County Human Relations Council on May 20, 1968 RIGHT HERE at APPLEWOOD VALLEY UMC. The idea was to provide basic human services to residents of Jeffco on an immediate basis and in a nonjudgmental environment.

AVUMC provides meals various times throughout the year for the homeless teenagers of Denver through Urban Peak. If you are willing to help feed a hungry and homeless teenager, please email Peggy in our church office. To visit Urban Peak’s website, please click here.
Family Promise is an organization that helps temporarily homeless families in the Denver Area. Applewood Valley UMC partners with host churches that house these families for one week at various times throughout the year. As a partnering church, we provide evening meals for the families. Imagine No Malaria
Imagine No Malaria is the United Methodist effort to eradicate malaria in Africa. Our monetary donations help supply bed nets, adequate medical facilities and educated medical personnel. Women’s Bean Project
Twice a year, Applewood Valley UMC sells food from the Women’s Bean Project, an international organization where women from all over the world earn money to support their families by personally preparing and packaging the food we buy. They have great soups, chills, dip mixes and brownies to name a few. Food can also be purchased on their website by clicking here.
United Methodist Women (UMW)
The United Methodist Women support various charities around the community. Join one of the circles below to become active with them in study, fun and mission work.
Circle meetings are the 4th Tuesdays of each month at the following times:
